Pierre Valton creates in 1893 in Troyes a company specialized in production of cotton materials. In 1920 his son Etienne Valton establishes Petit Bateau. Since then the company invests into development of new techniques and materials. Petit Bateau is the first one to invent and produce cotton underpants. During the years the company releases a couple of innovations in the baby clothing sector, such as: the american neck opening, the velour, le milleraies, a cotton/wool fabric to keep warm and comfortable. Since 1994 the company is producing signature t-shirts in 50 different designs, 848 colours, sold in 200 countries and so far 50 million t-shirts are sold. Italian fashion Wholesale provides Petit Bateau products.
