Mandarina Duck is established in 1977 by Paolo Trento and Pietro Mannato in Bologna. The labels has taken its logo and name from a duck living on the banks of Ussuri river on the border between Russia and China. The first collection of luggage is launched the same year under the name Utility. Four years later in 1981 the company debuts in the travel accessory sector with the TANK collection. Three years later and the first monobrand store is opened. For its 10th birthday in 1987 Mandarina Duck has already 12 stores. One year later the first leather line is released. MD20 which is still the most popular line is launched in 1989. Since 1990s the brand is expanding its network trough the globe. Mandarina duck develops a total lifestyle concept by opening licenses in the eyewear, perfume, watch and mobile phone sectors. Mandarina Duck continues to enjoy the excitement of discovery and experimentation, while remaining forever true to its innate love of innovation and the strictest standards, in total harmony with our modern way of life.
